I don’t know about you, but my family and I enjoy going to IHOP from time to time for what we call “Breakinner”. It’s breakfast for dinner! So when I had the chance to try out their new IHOP at Home® Syrup line you can purchase at your local grocery store, I jumped at it!
When we are dining in the restaurant, my boys (and my husband) love to try all the different syrups they have. I’m not much of a sweets person, so give me a little of the basic maple syrup, and I’m good. When the box of syrups arrived at my home a week or so ago, can you imagine the excitement in home when my boys (all four of them) realized that the Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity® Strawberry and Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity® Blueberry syrup were included? You would have thought we had won the lotto or something! I even caught my husband drizzling a little of the Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity Strawberry syrup on his ice cream. I personally don’t like to give my boys too much of that type of syrup, and that’s why I was glad to see I had the choice between Lite and Sugar Free syrup for their breakfast before school.
I prefer these for my own pancakes and waffles because of the calorie count difference compared to their Original syrup
Do you see the calorie difference? The Original syrup has 220 calories per serving vs. the Sugar Free with 15. I don’t know about you, but that a HUGE difference. I’d like to think that my waist line is thanking me for noticing that
You may think that the IHOP at Home Sugar Free syrup wouldn't taste as good as the Original, but I promise it does. My boys had no problem devouring their waffles that I drizzled with IHOP at Home Sugar Free syrup
(yes, Iron Man wanted some too!)
The syrup is a hit in my home! My boys are still young, so thanks to IHOP at Home Syrup being available at my local grocery store, I can now tell them we are having IHOP at home! Not sure if I’ll be able to get away with that for long, but I’m definitely going to do it as much as I can!
Now, let me share what I think about the syrup:
The taste is great considering it’s sugar free
It is definitely thinner than the Original syrup
I didn’t take a picture, but I’m NOT a fan of how wide the opening is on the top of the syrup. This can easily have you pouring too much syrup on your food.
Overall, I think IHOP made a great decision with making their IHOP at Home Syrups available to purchase in stores. Want to know where to purchase your own? Go to www.IHOPatHome.com to find where to buy IHOP at Home Syrup, and you can also visit IHOP at Home's Facebook page to connect with them.
